Surrounded by Sound – coming events

Eva Väljots and Arja will play old kanteletunes transcribed by A. O. Väisänen in the beginning of the 20th century. The concerts are part of Eva’s graduation concerts in Estonia. One concert in Tallinn on the 7th of June (Estonian Theatre and Music Museum, at 5 p.m.) and the other concert in Viljandi (Pärimusmuusika Ait) on the 8th of June.

13th of June, Torppamuseo, Museotie 1, 31400 Somero. Arja plays the old small kanteles at the museum for a couple of hours starting at 4 p.m.
11th of July, Kampin kappeli – The Chapel of Silence, Simonkatu 7, 00100 Helsinki. Arja’s concert at 5 p.m.
22nd of July, the Haihara Art Centre, Haiharankatu 30, 33710 Tampere, Arja will play for a cuople of hours starting at 2 p.m. The audience can walk, watch the art, lie down for a moment, and leave as they wish.
26th of July, Syrjämän ateljeekoti Yläneentie 15, 32500 Oripää. Arja plays inside the studio for three hours starting at 5 p.m.
KannelFestival of Tallinn (Estonia) on the 13th of October, 2018. Arja’s masterclass for teachers at 11:00 a.m. Concert at 7 p.m. – several performers.
24th of November, 1 p.m., Rodman Hall Art Center, St Catharines, Ontario, Canada. In the concert presented by the Gallery Players of Niagara Alison Melville, Ben Grossman and Arja will be playing inside, outside and around the Northern Oracle installation of Heather Hart.
